Interim Management Accountant

We’re hiring an Interim Management Accountant for maternity cover until December 2025. It’s a hands-on role where you’ll help deliver high-quality financial reporting, partner with senior leaders, and support a busy multi entity Finance function.
This hybrid role offers flexibility, with two days each week spent in our Huntingdon office, working closely with senior finance leadership and operational teams to provide insight and maintain financial integrity throughout the cover period.
Some key objectives & responsibilities will include:
Preparing accurate monthly management accounts, including P&L, balance sheet and cashflow
Owning key month‑end tasks such as prepayments, accruals, depreciation and amortisation
Supporting audit deliverables and working closely with auditors to resolve queries swiftly
Maintaining and reconciling balance sheet accounts to ensure data accuracy
Supporting year‑end activity
Identifying opportunities to streamline processes and improve efficiency
Working with operational teams to provide financial insight
Ensuring adherence to group accounting policies and relevant standards
Providing ad hoc financial analysis for senior leadership
About You:
You’re an experienced and qualified Management Accountant who’s confident operating in a multi-entity group environment, with the ability to manage complexity while maintaining accuracy and pace. You take ownership, stay calm under pressure, and bring a proactive, solutions focused mindset to your work.
You’re comfortable delivering month-end from end to end, supporting audits, and ensuring strong financial controls — and you know how to turn data into meaningful insight for stakeholders across the business.
You’ll also be or have:
Technical Skills
Strong knowledge of UK GAAP and management accounting principles
Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables and complex formulas
Experience delivering high-quality monthly management accounts
Confident managing accruals, prepayments and balance sheet reconciliations
Familiarity with audit processes and compliance requirements
Experience with Sage 200 (desirable)
Professional Skills
Highly organised with the ability to manage competing priorities
Strong communicator with excellent stakeholder management
High level of accuracy and attention to detail
Able to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment
Analytical thinker with strong problem-solving skills
