Risk & Compliance Manager - Delegated Authority & Schemes

We are currently in the market for an experienced Risk & Compliance Manager across our Delegated Authority & Schemes area of the business
This is a home-based role within the UK that will require travel occasionally — e.g. monthly to attend team meetings at Jensten office locations.
Purpose of the Role
Delegated Authority (DA) and schemes business refers to insurance arrangements where Insurers grant underwriting or claims, administrative authority to Jensten (such as a coverholder or MGA) to act on its behalf within agreed terms.
This role owns and manages the Delegated Authority Framework across Jensten Group's business areas, collaborating closely with key stakeholders to keep the framework current, effective, and aligned to regulatory and Lloyd's requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Delegated Authority Oversight
Own and oversee the end-to-end approval, onboarding, and renewal process for Delegated Authority arrangements, ensuring compliance with defined standards and clear tracking, escalation, and resolution of outstanding actions.
Lead ongoing monitoring of Delegated Authority arrangements, identifying and managing changes to scope, terms, or capacity as they arise.
Ensure Delegated Authority procedures remain current, effective, and aligned to Lloyd's requirements, regulatory expectations, and internal governance and risk appetite.
Oversee the effective use and governance of Lloyd's systems — including ATLAS, DAM (support), and DCOM — ensuring required tasks, approvals, and compliance activities are completed accurately and within required time limits.
Maintain a robust control and monitoring framework, including exploring the adoption of automation and AI tools where appropriate to improve efficiency and accuracy.
Risk, Compliance Advisory
Provide accurate, practical compliance advice to stakeholders across the business.
Provide subject matter expertise and advisory support on Delegated Authority and schemes business, including structure, risk assessment, governance requirements, and regulatory expectations.
Produce and continuously enhance management information and exception reporting, with clear articulation of actions required and action owners.
Stakeholder & Project Work
Build and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders across the wider Risk & Compliance and IBA teams and other group business areas.
Support and contribute to strategic and transformation initiatives relating to Delegated Authority, such as entity simplification and restructuring projects.
Provide ad-hoc project support to the Group Agency team as required.
Represent the business at relevant market forums, committees, and industry events, maintaining awareness of market developments, regulatory changes, and best practice in Delegated Authority oversight.
Qualifications & Capabilities
Technical & Regulatory Knowledge
Extensive knowledge of general insurance and its underlying principles and terminology.
Good knowledge of delegated authority business, e.g., gained through auditing delegated authority arrangements at an insurance company, or working within a Lloyd's Syndicate in a role with responsibility for Delegated Authority oversight.
Professional qualifications would be desirable e.g., Cert CII, ACII

Ability to prioritise and organise workload, and to chase and follow through on tasks and projects.
Team player with the ability to work on a stand-alone basis, e.g. managing projects independently.
Effective communication skills and the ability to challenge effectively.
Logical, analytical, and resourceful, with strong attention to detail and a focus on insurance contract management.
IT Skills
Strong IT skills, particularly MS Office and Excel, plus experience with document repository systems, workflow systems, and Lloyd's tools.
Experience
Minimum of 10+ years of experience in general insurance, with a keen interest in insurance contract management.
Good knowledge of delegated authority business, gained either through auditing delegated authority arrangements at an insurance company, through a Lloyd's Syndicate role with Delegated Authority oversight responsibility or in a broker or MGA business.
Experience managing Lloyd's administration system tools is desirable.
Experience identifying and implementing process improvements.
Comfortable working to deadlines.
