Integration Accountant

Jensten is a fast-growing insurance group, and we’re on an exciting journey of expansion and transformation. As part of this growth, we’re looking for an ambitious and focused Integration Accountant to join our Group Finance team.
This hybrid role (2 days per week in our Huntingdon office) offers a unique opportunity to support the integration of newly acquired businesses into our group, while contributing to wider finance transformation projects. You’ll work closely with M&A, Treasury, Payroll, and other finance teams to ensure smooth transitions and robust financial controls.
Occasional travel across the UK will be required to meet with acquired businesses.
Some key objectives & responsibilities will include:
Acquisition Integration
- Lead pre- and post-acquisition finance activities to ensure smooth integration.
- Collaborate with M&A, Payroll, Treasury, and Finance teams.
- Support acquired businesses with migration to group systems.
Technical Accounting
- Prepare opening balance sheets and completion accounts.
- Ensure compliance with UK GAAP and group policies.
- Post and review ledger journals and maintain technical documentation.
Reconciliation & Data Integrity
- Perform complex reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
- Validate financial data and create audit trails for integration transactions.
Finance Change Projects
- Support finance transformation initiatives and process improvements.
- Document procedures and create training materials.
Stakeholder Management
- Act as the primary finance contact for acquired businesses.
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders including auditors and advisors.
- Facilitate workshops and manage expectations across teams.
Compliance & Controls
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal policies.
- Support audit processes and maintain documentation for regulatory purposes.
About You:
You’ll be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or QBE) with strong technical accounting skills and experience in financial control. You thrive in complex environments, enjoy problem-solving, and can manage multiple priorities with confidence. You’ll also bring strong project management capabilities, coordinating multiple stakeholders and timelines across integration and change initiatives
You’ll also be or have:
Essential Experience
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or QBE)
- Significant experience in financial accounting and control
- Advanced Excel proficiency
- Broad understanding of accounting functions
Desirable Experience
- Exposure to finance projects or integration work
- Experience in insurance broking or financial services
- Familiarity with M&A transactions
Skills & Competencies
- Strong technical accounting knowledge (UK GAAP)
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, formulas, data manipulation)
- Experience with acquisition accounting and working with incomplete records
- Excellent project coordination and stakeholder management
- High attention to detail, accuracy, and clear communication
- Proactive, logical problem-solver with strong organisational skills
- Confident and adaptable when working with stakeholders at all levels
- Collaborative team player with the ability to support and mentor others
