We are seeking an experienced Liability Underwriter to join Jensten Underwriting in Huntingdon, supporting the continued development of our Liability and Commercial E-Trading proposition.

This role will suit an underwriter with strong technical capability and sound commercial judgement, who is comfortable underwriting liability risks, contributing to product development, and working closely with broker partners within a delegated authority environment.

What you’ll be doing:

• Underwriting new business, renewals, and mid-term adjustments across employers’ liability, public liability, and commercial combined products

• Assessing liability exposures, reviewing claims experience, and making well-reasoned underwriting decisions within agreed authority levels

• Supporting the development, documentation, and refinement of underwriting appetite, guidelines, and e-traded products

• Building and maintaining effective broker relationships to support profitable and sustainable growth

• Ensuring underwriting activity complies with FCA requirements, binding authority terms, and internal governance standards

• Acting as a technical referral point for liability risks within the underwriting team

What we’re looking for:

• Proven underwriting experience in liability lines, commercial combined, or related commercial insurance products

• Strong analytical skills with a pragmatic, commercial approach to risk

• Acturis experience is highly desirable

• Clear and professional communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with brokers

• A structured, detail-focused working style and a commitment to underwriting discipline

• Competence using insurance platforms and Microsoft Office tools
